A partnership can look like a lot of things. It can mean different things to different pairs of people, and it's all okay as long as both parties agree to it. If it's working for both of you, then it can't be wrong. The partnership in this story, though, which was shared on the AITAH subreddit, wasn't working. When money and employment come into play, everything can get difficult. When one of you isn't pulling your weight and refuses to acknowledge it, things can get a little bit dicey. That's what was happening here: when one woman's work contract was about to expire, and she wasn't treating it with the urgency that she should have been. Her boyfriend stepped in to light the fire under her, but it backfired in a pretty huge way. It's not our job to run each other's lives, but we can help each other out. It's part of what being in a relationship is about. Maybe they have skills where you have deficits, and it has a way of evening out. Maybe you appreciate it when they help you out, and you do the same for them. But when does it turn from helpful to overreaching? The couple in this story was testing that line and finding a lot of friction along the way.
